Certification of state accounts - 2024 financial year

COUR DES COMPTES

The Court of Accounts publishes the certification of the State's accounts, drawn up each year in accordance with Article 58 of the Constitutional Bylaw on Budget Acts (LOLF).
Subject to the impact of the issues described in the "Basis for qualified opinion" section of its report, the Court hereby certifies that, in the light of the accounting rules and principles applicable to it, the State's general account for financial year 2024, closed on 4 April 2025, is true and fair and gives an accurate view of the State's financial position and assets and liabilities.
The State's 2024 accounts show a deficit on operations for the year of €123.7bn, compared with €125.5bn in 2023. The State's net position will be negative at €1,987.2bn, compared with €1,968.5bn at the end of 2023.
